Severin says… Go.
A few art events for you here, both as it happens are taking place at the Impressions Gallery in Bradford. First up is the book launch for Tessa Bunney and her new book ‘Home Work’, this takes place on Thursday 22nd of this month, 6.30-8pm. A free event that wil include both a showing of the work with a talk and time for book signings and questions.
The book looks at the use of “craft” in the villages around Hanoi Veitnam and how it is within their lives, work and survival.
The second event is also free (though does require a deposit to secure a place) ‘Sounding Board‘ is an opportunity for film makers both aspiring and productive to have a one to on with artist Ben Rivers and gallery director Sarah Reed to discuss and review your work, get feedback, input and advice. This sounds extremly worthwhile if this is the sort of thing you either are into or are thinking about getting into. Booking early is advised.
This is a free discusion based around the new exhibition currently on at The Cornerhouse in Manchester, artists, collaborators and other members of the viewing public are able to listen, discuss and explore ideas behind artists thinking and the developing of ideas.
This will be a led discussion and it sounds like it would make a very interesting and useful evening for those of us who are interested in this sort of thing in particular. As mentioned it is free but booking is essential. Saturday 17th July, 3pm, the exhibition itself runs until the 12th of September.
